One of my all time favourite places to visit is Florida. And well, this trip was filled with different gardens, sun, a little bit work and of course, my favourite boys - the Toronto Maple Leafs! We spent a lot of time on the road, and there was even a day where I had to move around Tampa and Sarasota in the trunk of an SUV, but hey anything to get to your destination right?
I also brought my handy dandy papershoot, which is a digital camera that gives you photos with a film effect directly embedded on it! But, the amazing thing, is that you don't have to wait 6-8 weeks to develop and receive your photos! Trust me, you'll know the papershoot photos when you see them!
There were still many things I didn't get to do, but I can safely say that this trip is one that will be repeated quite often.
Botanical Gardens
I honestly felt like I was walking through a completely new area in the world, even though I was only about twenty minutes from where we were staying in Florida. It's such a gorgeous location filled with history, beautiful plants and animals, and well just an amazing walk along the water.
P.S. I may not have gone to Coachella, but some of these photos showed that I brought Coachella to me!
Toronto vs Tampa
Now if anyone knows me, they know how much of a devoted Leafs fan I am. Those boys have my heart, even though they seem to never make it past the first round. I know "Hana pick a new team" right?! But, being a Leafs fan and realizing that the boys were playing in Florida while I'm there meant that I just had to go see them!
Even though we were four of maybe 20 overall Toronto fans in the arena, and the Leafs fell 8-1 that day, it was just an amazing experience to cheer for the away team for once!
Ca' d'Zan
Now, this is a must see spot whenever you're in Sarasota, Florida. The Ca' d'Zan is the home of a circus king and his wife, and it stands to be a testament of the America Dream in the Roaring Twenties. There's so much to see without even going inside, and between the actual mansion and the side home, you will honestly feel like you're living the Bridgerton life. I can definitely see myself making this a stop to see every time I visit Sarasota.
Safe to say that Florida is a place that will forever hold memories of good laughs and inside jokes. I can't wait to continue to visit this state (even though they can be a little problematic), and between the ability to hit up the beach at all times of the year to getting to hand feed wild flamingos, there is always something to do in Sarasota. Until next time!
