COVID may have ruined their original plans, but we did COVID one better.

This intimate elopement was so special with Jirah and Darren, especially because we have been long time friends, and this was not how they intended their wedding to be.

Their wedding was originally planned to be a big celebration, with lots of dancing and family members present. But COVID came along and changed their plans, like it did for most couples in 2020!

So instead, Jirah and Darren decided to have a tiny celebration in their local church, with about their immediate family, and then a lovely dinner with their crew. And let me tell you, it was a day filled with laughs, tears, and all around a good time.

I know a lot of couples found that despite plans having to change, COVID can’t cancel love – and that their adjusted plans ended up being even more perfect. I’m thankful for the humbling reminders that COVID has been providing us all with.

Jirah and Darren handled the entire experience with so much grace and perspective – it was an honour getting to see it all through their eyes! Two people madly in love, unwilling to let anything stand in the way of their commitment to one another!
